So I recently joined an invite-only online community called Influenster, which works to connect trendsetters and bloggers to give their thoughts and opinions on various products. I was selected to participate in the Cosmo VoxBox 2012 program and I’m so excited to share these awesome products with ya’ll! On another note, these pictures were taken with my brand new Canon Rebel, so enjoy the better quality pictures!

(Just an FYI, all thoughts and opinions are my own and I am receiving no compensation for this post. c/o = “courtesy of” meaning I have been sent something free of charge to review)

Let’s dive into that box after the jump.

First up is the Gillette Venus Embrace razor and Venus & Olay razor refill.

I’ve been using the Venus razor for years and I absolutely love them! I usually just buy the regular blade refills, but I have tried the Embrace blades once before and I really liked them. They have five blades instead of four, so it gives you an even closer shave. For the purposes of this post, I only reviewed the Venus & Olay blade  refill, as I have never tried them before. It has “Moisture Bars” on the top and bottom of the blades, that help to “lock in moisture” with “every smoothing stroke.” I’ve used it twice in the last week to shave my legs and underarms and I really noticed that they were softer than usual, which is great because I usually have crazy dry skin this time of year. But the moisture bars make the razor kind of bulky and I’m not sure how long they last, meaning I would hate for the moisture bars to dry out before the blades are dull. As with all Venus blades, any blade fits on any Venus razor handle. Anyway, these are great, I recommend! ($3.50-$4.50  per month for blade refills)

This product was the most fun to test, because le duh it’s chocolate! Ghirardelli’s Gourmet Milk Sea Salt Escape is a milk chocolate bar with chopped roasted almonds and a little bit of sea salt. My mom and I agreed that it was really good and neither of us are big fans of milk chocolate. I’ve always loved Ghirardelli chocolate, I think it is definitely one of the best chocolatiers in the country and I also love that they are from San Francisco which is my favorite city! The milk chocolate was really soft and creamy and the sea salt keeps it from being too sweet. The crunchy bits of almond give it a nice toasty flavor, too. I also recommend this! ($2.79 for 3.5 oz bar)

Did ya’ll ever have to use erasable pens in middle school? I remember them smelling bad (probably totally toxic), the ink was sticky and got everywhere and they didn’t even erase that well! So I was skeptical to try these FriXion by Pilot Pen erasable gel pens. I do love the colors, black is great for serious work and then hot pink for fun stuff! The pens write really smoothly, as good gel pens do. The silver end is where the eraser is and it’s made of rubber but it doesn’t leave shavings everywhere when you erase. And best of all, the ink erases completely! You can’t see a thing afterward. So if you love gel pens but make lots of mistakes, I would recommend the FriXion pens. ($4.50 for a 3-pack; $11 for an 8-pack)

I was really excited to receive this deluxe sample size of Bath & Body Works Forever Red because I had been wanting to try this after getting some emails about it. Forever Red Eau de Parfume is Bath & Body Works new scent that they say is their “most luxurious.” It contains notes of pomegranate, red osmanthus (an Asian shrub with flowers that smell like peaches and apricots) and vanilla rum. When I first spray it on, it is very cloyingly sweet and heavy on sugary pomegranate. On the dry-down, I can smell the floral notes and like a smidge of vanilla, but barely. I think it lasted maybe two hours before it faded away completely. It’s not my favorite scent to come from B&BW, and I can’t say that I would ever buy it for myself as it is just too sweet for me, especially on first spray. But if sweet is what you enjoy, I’d say give it a spray at the store  first to see if it’s for you. ($10 for .25 fl oz or $44.50 for full size)

A big thank you to Influenster for choosing me to be a part of the Cosmo VoxBox campaign! It was really fun to try these new products and then to share them with you!
