Since it’s technically fall, regardless of what the weather here in San Antonio suggests, it’s time to do something warm with a touch of drama. And just to spice (or pumpkin spice?) things up, I switched up the lipcolor as well. One is more subdued and the other is a bit more dramatic.
For this look, I built it around a Nars single eyeshadow called Persia. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH, even though it took me a long time to figure out how to wear it without looking crazy. It’s very intense and intimidating looking in the pan. I mean, it’s bright, burnt orange or rather “matte paprika” as Nars describes it. So I get it.
But Persia likes to play with warm browns, especially mattes! So that’s what I did here.
Face
- Nyx Cosmetics Studio Perfect Photo-Loving Primer
- MAC Matchmaster foundation in 2.0
- Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Sand (undereyes)
- Hard Candy Glamoflague concealer in Medium Light (blemishes)
- MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural in Light Plus
- MAC Bone Beige/Emphasize Sculpt & Shape powder for contour
- Clinique Cheek Pop blush in Cola Pop
- Wet n’ Wild ColorIcon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana (used as highlighter)
- Finish with MAC Fix+ to finish face makeup, then ELF Makeup Mist & Set to set everything else
Eyes
For this look, I used a combination of Urban Decay’s Pulp Fiction eyeshadow palette (discontinued, but dupable), the Naked Basics palette and Nars Persia and Galapagos.
- A matte beige all over the lid, from lash line up to the brow (I used Righteous from the Pulp Ficition palette)
- Matte burnt orange into and slightly above the crease using a fluffy blending brush (Nars Persia)
- A warm, medium matte brown into the crease using window-wiper motion with a slightly more dense, pointed crease brush (Tyranny from Pulp Fiction)
- A yellow-based matte cream on the lid, using a flat brush and tapping motion (Foxy from Naked Basics)
- A matte or shimmery dark brown in the outer V (Nars Galapagos, which has a nice golden sparkle)
- A shimmery highlight on the brown bone and inner corner/tear duct (Venus from Naked Basics)
- On the lower lash line, I layered first Persia and then Tyranny, followed by Galapagos on the outer portion of my lash line
- Nars Eye Paint in Baalbek as liner (I used Real Techniques Silicon Liner brush to apply on my upper lash line and a flat definer brush to push it into my lower lash line)
- L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara in Blackest Black
- Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow Pomade in Medium Brown
- Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Clear
Lips
- Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick in Touch of Spice
- MAC matte lipstick in Strange Journey (LE from the Rocky Horror collection last year, but easily dupable with any yellow or orange based red)
If you like this look, but don’t want to commit to a $25 Nars single, I would suggest the Morphe eyeshadow palette in 35O. It’s 35 colors that include a dupe for everything I’m using above plus a bunch more colors for about $22 (there are a lot of blogger affiliate codes out there, just google to find one!)
this look is beautiful!! That lip color looks stunning on you!
